Study Abroad Exhibition | 4PM – 6PM | GC Art Gallery

This exhibit is a showcase of students’ art work inspired by and created during their study abroad experiences. The exhibit features work by students that participated in FIU’s Art Education programs in China, Italy, and France, as well as in FIU’s Architecture programs in Japan, England, and Germany. The exhibit will be available for viewing in the GC Art Gallery from now until November 16th, 2016.

Fulfilling the J. William Fulbright Vision: Mutual Understanding for a More Peaceful World | 2:45PM – 4:15PM | MARC Pavilion

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. In this spirit, we are inviting the campus community to a showcase and panel discussion on “Fulfilling the J. William Fulbright Vision: Mutual Understanding for a More Secure World”. Two Fulbright Student Program alumni and four Fulbright Scholar Program faculty alumni will present their experiences and respond those who may be interested in going abroad on a Fulbright grant. We are particularly pleased to welcome members from the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board on this occasion, especially since the Fulbright Program is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.

FIU Language day is an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to practice their language skills. The day’s activities include language reunions where language students can meet new language partners to practice what they have learned in the classroom. Other events include name-writing in non-Roman alphabets, language karaoke, language scavenger hunt, Tai Chi demonstrations, and opportunities for students to share how learning a language has impacted their career and internship opportunities.
