The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (IDEVAW) promotes awareness about the global issues of sexual assault, interpersonal violence, human trafficking, and violence on college campuses and beyond. Keynote Speaker Edgar Cruz, an End Trafficking Fellow at the US Fund for UNICEF, will educate FIU on how to combat human trafficking of LGBTQA youth experiencing homelessness. Lunch provided to participants.

The official Transgender Day of Remembrance occurs annually on November 20, and is a day to memorialize those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia and to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the transgender community. Join us as we remember those that are no longer with us and spread awareness about the issues.
