FIU operates records, registration, and student financials on the PantherSoft System, a web-based administrative computer system which is used for all your student transactions. PantherSoft integrates your student information and allows you to access your student records online at anytime from anywhere, further enhancing self-service capabilities.
The student portal through which you access PantherSoft is MyFIU, and you can access it at https://my.fiu.edu/.
Steps for Accessing MyFIU
- Go to https://my.fiu.edu/
- Enter your Panther ID number. If you do not know you Panther ID number, click on the “Look Up Your Panther ID” link.
- Enter the default password, which is your date of birth in the format MMDDYYYY. If you were born on January 3, 1987, the password would be 01031987.
- You will then be prompted to change your password.
FIU Email – PantherMail
As an International Exchange Student at FIU, you will receive an FIU email address to use PantherMail. This email address will allow you to communicate with your professors and with the university community as well as to receive campus news and updates. You can even forward email from this account to another account that you check more frequently!
To login and access your PantherMail, please visit http://panthermail.fiu.edu.
In order to find your username for PantherMail, please visit http://myaccounts.fiu.edu and click on the “Look up your MyAccounts ID” link. Enter the requested information and click “Lookup.” The following information will be displayed:
- Username – used to login to PantherMail and to access the wireless network on campus
- FIU Email Address
Please note that your initial password is your date of birth in this format: ddMonYYYY. If you were born on January 3, 1987, your initial password would be 03Jan1987. When you login, you will be prompted to change your password. Your new password should include:
- At least 8 characters
- At least 1 uppercase letter
- At least 1 lowercase letter
- At least 1 number
If you have any trouble with your PantherMail account, you should contact the UTS Support Center via the Online Service Request System located at http://uts.fiu.edu or by calling at (305)348-2284.
All international exchange students are required to live on campus at the Modesto A. Maidique campus, regardless of major. Living on campus will provide you with a unique learning experience, where you will have the opportunity to make friends with students from many different cultures and backgrounds, participate in a wide variety of activities, and get involved in sports, cultural and educational programs.
FIU’s Modesto A. Maidique campus is home to five residence halls – University Park
Apartments, University Park Towers, Panther Hall, Everglades Hall, and Lakeview Hall. These residence halls provide room and board to over 2000 students. Golden Panther Express
The Golden Panther Express (GPE) is a shuttle service that connects the Modesto A. Maidique Campus and the Biscayne Bay Campus. Shuttle schedules are very convenient, providing rides between campuses from early morning until late evening. Please note that there is a charge for the GPE which is automatically deducted from your FIU One Card.
The CATS Shuttle connects the Modesto A. Maidique Campus and the College of Engineering and Computing located on 107th Avenue and Flagler Street. Please note that this is a free service. The Department of Parking and Transportation has an exciting offer available to the FIU community – Hertz on Demand!
